Operation: Eat Right Wraps Up
Operation: Eat Right, Emory’s latest nutrition campaign, just wrapped on July 29. Created by the Healthy Emory team, this campaign focused on highlighting the nutrition resources available to employees within Healthy Emory Connect, Emory’s new health and well-being resource powered by Virgin Pulse. The campaign covered 4 topics (or missions) all designed to help employees focus on portion control, cooking more meals at home, tracking their food and beverage intake, and increasing the amount of fruits and vegetables they consume in their daily diet.
Operation Eat Right also had a series of short, fun video clips, starring Super Dietitian, our nutrition hero! The videos showcased the theme of each mission in a fun and informative way. Check them out and feel free to pass them along to other employees:
- Intro video
- Mission 1 – Controlling Your Portions
- Mission 2 – Cooking Your Meals
- Mission 3 – Tracking Your Intake
- Mission 4 – Increasing Your Produce
As participants completed each mission, they earned points on Healthy Emory Connect. These points translate into Emory medical plan incentive dollars to help offset medical expenses. During Operation Eat Right, 2,167 employees earned nutrition-based points toward their incentives.
In addition to earning points for completing nutrition missions in Healthy Emory Connect, there were two healthy habit challenges that employees could complete to earn even more points. 1,912 employees participated in June’s Size Matters Healthy Habit Challenge and 1,311 employees participated in July’s Veggies on the Go Healthy Habit Challenge. Nutrition tips were offered via text messaging to over 600 participants who signed up to receive them.
Many Emory employees made the decision to focus on nutrition this summer and learned more about the nutrition tools that Healthy Emory Connect has to offer. We encourage you to continue on your nutrition mission and implement these lifestyle changes in your daily life
