A variety of workshops are available for staff and faculty groups, organizational units, and divisions. The workshops provide an opportunity to offer valuable information in a group or seminar format for small and large audiences.

- Alcohol and Drug Education (1hr. - 2 hrs.)
Recognize the signs and symptoms of substance abuse that may be impacting a co-worker, direct report, family member, friend or oneself. These workshops, offered periodically and by request, enhance awareness and knowledge of how addiction can interfere with one's professional and personal life goals. Strategies will be provided for facilitating a referral to FSAP or other providers for the individual who may need help.
- Anger Management (1hr. - 2 hrs)
Anger is a natural feeling and reaction to situations that may cause disappointment, hurt, frustration, sadness, confusion, shame or other negative emotions. FSAP can provide individual and group interventions targeted at developing and enhancing positive, effective anger management skills, which can be useful personally and professionally.
- Building Confidence in the Workplace (1 hr. - 2 hrs.)
Individuals will learn strategies for increasing personal and professional confidence at work. Up-to-date information will be presented on approaches to increase self-confidence, which impacts work and personal relationships. The program includes useful and practical skills in communicating and interacting with other people, as well as strategies for maintaining and increasing confidence and skills over time.
- Coping With Holiday Stress (1 hr.)
Does the stress of the holidays have a big effect on you or your worksite? FSAP can help identify the major areas of holiday stress through stress inventory and discuss the practical steps to surviving the holiday season.
- Doctor, How Are You? Strategies for Physician Wellness (1 hr.)
This program presents a straightforward look at the stresses faced by today's physicians, and effective strategies for responding to these challenges. The session looks at the increasing demands of today's medical and managed care environment, and the challenges for physicians with work-life balance.
- Managing Grief and Loss (1 hr. - 1.5 hrs.)
This program is useful for any department that has experienced one or more major life losses. Participants will be educated on the normal emotional and psychological reactions to loss, practical approaches for better managing the grief process, and guidance on how to enhance and improve the support available from important relationships.
- Managing the Emotional Impact of Change (30 min. - 1 hr.)
Groups or departments are assisted in either preparing for or responding to the stresses that accompany workplace change. Teams receive detailed information about the normal emotional reactions to change and practical approaches to handling change effectively. This program can be tailored to provide guidance for the specific transitions being encountered by the departments and organizations.
- Stress Management: Effective Strategies for Coping In and Out of the Workplace (1 hr. - 2 hrs.)
Groups or departments are assisted in developing more effective stress management skills and approaches. Research-based information about the complex interaction between a person and the environment that causes stress, and concrete and practical tools that allow people to reduce and manage stress are presented. Participants will gain both the knowledge and the skills needed to develop a comprehensive individualized stress management plan.
- Understanding the Impact of Depression (30 min. - 1 hr.)
Depression is a silent and often hidden problem. It is also one affecting the health and well being of millions of people. Participants will learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of depression in themselves and others. Depression can reduce one's personal and professional effectiveness and productivity. This session offers practical steps and guidance on what can be done to assess and effectively manage depression.
- Worklife Balance: (1 hr. - 2 hrs.)
This training program offers step-by-step instructions for developing an individualized plan for better work-life balance. Participants will learn to identify the obstacles, resources and efficiencies relevant to balancing their work and home lives in ways that align with their priorities.
